                  My dear parents.
I'm writing you a little letter that will make you very happy by telling you that I spent my week better and that I have no marks I have the rosette (decoration) and Pauline too and I have made progress I am no longer the last for everything I am the 5th for holy history I will continue to please you my dear little mother. Mademoiselle Pauline Romet came to see us yesterday and she gave us some cakes My dear little Mother and my dear Little Father I'm looking forward to New Year's Eve with great impatience. I'm looking forward to seeing him and Pauline arrive. My dear and good parents, I kiss you with all my heart Pauline too [v°] I kiss my good mother (Mme Martin mother), Adolphe (Adolphe, then aged 25, an orphan raised by his grandmother Martin - godfather of Léonie) and Louise (Louise Marais)
