Letter from Mrs. Martin CF 96
To Mrs Guerin
27 April 1873.
I am pleased to learn that you have found a suitable home to relocate your drugstore. I desire with all my heart that you succeed better than in the past, in this famous enterprise which has already given my brother so much trouble. Finally, I have confidence in the future; you are good Christians and I cannot help believing that, if the good God has tried you, he will fully compensate you by making you prosper beyond all hope.
Marie is not better, the fever does not leave her, with that she suffers a lot of pain in her feet. From what Mr. Vital told me, she's got a long way to go. They assure me that if I'm done with it in a month, I won't have to complain. Here is a great consolation! Finally, let's hope that all these people are bad prophets...
Farewell, my dear sister, give your little girls a big hug for me and tell Isidore to write to me when he can and let me know how much the estimate for the goods has risen to; my husband would like to know and I would like to know how much your losses are estimated.
