Letter from Mrs. Martin to her brother Isidore CF 30
March 23, 1868.
I was happy to learn that little Jeanne was doing well and that she was so nice and easy to raise. My little boy is very nice too. It's the portrait of the first, I've never had children who look so alike. Provided that they do not look alike to the end! I'm always afraid that this little one will fly away like the other one. It is very strong, but it looks bad, like the previous one, which displeases me excessively.
The good Saint Joseph will leave me this one, I hope, he's had enough of one. He was kind enough to send me another as soon as I gave him the first. It is very certain that I owe the latter only to his special intercession. Last year, I made a novena during his month and I finished it on his feast day; nine months later, day for day, he answered me. As you see, he couldn't have done better.
You will perhaps laugh at what I'm writing to you here, but I'm not laughing at it, I take it literally.
