From our Mother of Le Mans,
                                                                                          on February 11, 1868,

Dear brother
You will be surprised to receive another letter from Le Mans today; but this time, it is to ask you to do a work of charity that will bring you happiness. Here is what it is: NT h. sister the assistant completely devoted to the missions and who for that reason is nicknamed the mother of the missionaries thought that you would like to send her ten francs worth of quinine at the invoice price; would you be kind enough to send it by post immediately, and in my first letter I would send you 10 francs in postage stamps. This quinine is intended for a poor missionary who lives in a very feverish country. He had asked for it some time ago as the thing that was most necessary to him.
I kiss you again dear friend as well as my sister-in-law and I await daily news of the newborn baby (Jeanne will be born on February 24).
your loving sister
