From Mother Marie de Gonzague to Mother Marie-Xavier de Sainte-Thérèse, prioress of the Carmel of Tours. September 9, 1890.
JMJT Carmel of Lisieux Jesus! September 9, 1890 Dear Mother, I receive the distressed lines from your dear daughter, your precious relic (Mother Thérèse of Saint-Joseph, former prioress of Tours, died September 8, 1890) left you for the homeland, as I rejoice for her and how I suffer for you... I live close to you and mingling my tears with yours close to this dear remains; I'm afraid I'll have the same pain soon. My venerated Mother Geneviève is changing and she has been very tired for 8 days, finally [God] has allowed her heart to still be able to witness the happiness of a child I immolated yesterday (Thérèse, who made her profession the day before), this Angel of a child is 17 1/2 years old and 30 years old, the religious perfection of a consummate old novice and the possession of herself, she is a perfect nun, yesterday not an eye could to stand dry at the sight of his great and complete immolation. From heaven your venerable Mother has witnessed her happiness and our joy, I beg her to bless us. Take care of yourself, Good Mother, you must be very tired, very broken. The most fraternal greeting possible to your dear flock. Union more and more at the foot of the Cross. Your unworthy but affectionate little sister and servant, Sr Marie de Gonzague rci
