RONCALLI Angelo-Joseph Monsignor
Born November 25, 1881 in Sotto il Monte, died June 3, 1963 in Rome.
Very devoted to Saint Thérèse since September 11, 1930, the date of his first pilgrimage to Lisieux, he returned several times to preside over ceremonies there while he was Apostolic Nuncio in Paris, between 1944 and 1953.
After his election as Pope, under the name of John XXIII, he liked to speak of Little Thérèse, of “her discreet and precious way of bringing souls closer to the riches of God”, as well as of her powerful intercession as Patroness of the Missions.
