HUGONIN Monsignor

Bishop of Bayeux and Lisieux.

Born July 3, 1823 in Thodure (Isère), died May 2, 1898 in Caen.

He confirmed Thérèse on June 14, 1884, received her with her Father at the bishopric of Bayeux on Monday, October 31, 1887.

After reluctance, he authorized his entry into Carmel at the age of 15, presided over his vesture on January 10, 1889 and continued to show interest in him.

On March 7, 1898, he orally gave the imprimatur to “The Story of a Soul”.
