MAZEL Frédéric Benjamin

Priest of the Foreign Missions of Paris

Born September 22, 1871 in Rodelle, canton of Bozouls, assassinated April 1, 1897 in Lo-Ly, China.

Embarked with Father Roulland for China on July 29, 1896, he died before reaching the place of his mission. Strongly impressed by this premature death, Thérèse spoke of it to Father Roulland in her letter of May 9, 1897, telling him that she invoked him as a martyr.
