GARNIER Théodore Monsieur l'Abbé

Born December 24, 1850 in Condé-sur-Noireau, died August 20, 1920 in Montmagny.

Friend of Doctor La Néele. As a young priest, he undertook, on the local Norman level, the constitution of groups of workers who became numerous. He also engaged in the propaganda of the newspaper "La Croix", then he set up a "National Union", a vast framework that he would maintain for a long time, for all of his social and sometimes political activities.

He multiplies the conferences and devotes himself to the difficult apostolate of the contradictory conference. In 1894, he inaugurated the processions of Joan of Arc. He also gives his support to major pilgrimages to Lourdes and Paray. He built the seminary for late vocations in Montmagny.
