CORNIERE Alexandre-Damase of Doctor

Born October 25, 1841 in Bonnebosq, died June 25, 1922 in Lisieux.

Medical doctor and surgeon. Father of five girls and three boys, including joseph, who was close to the Guérins and Céline. A devoted and fervent Christian, Dr. de Cornière treated many poor people, notably the Carmelites, free of charge from 1886 to 1920. Because of his abundant hair, he was nicknamed by some sisters of the Community, including Thérèse, "Clodion the hairy". .

He was called upon to recognize the remains of the saint as a sworn doctor during the exhumations of 1910 and 1917.
