He was Provincial of the Dominicans of the Province of Paris.

Sr Marie de la Trinité, when she was a novice at the Carmel on the avenue de Messine in Paris, heard him during the retreat he preached in this Carmel in 1892. When she came to Lisieux, she took the notes of this retreat. She spoke about it with Thérèse who found there a consolation and a comfort to follow her “Little Way”.
