Born June 10, 1874 in Caen, died July 14, 1907 in Caen.

Still a seminarian, he asked for a spiritual sister at the Carmel of Lisieux. Mother Agnès designates Thérèse. He will maintain a regular correspondence with her, the latter exhausting her last strength to write to her, encourage her, share her "Little Way". After a few years as a missionary in Nyassa, he returned to France in 1906, due to sleeping sickness. He died the following year, hospitalized at the Bon Sauveur in Caen.
