Born in 1824 in Rigal, died in 1901.
This religious played an important role in the Order of Carmel in France, as a preacher and provincial. He is at the origin of 3 foundations of Carmelites: Rennes, Paris and Montélimar. Bishop Hugonin asked him to preach Lent in his diocese in 1888. On this occasion, they both entered the Carmel of Lisieux on February 19, 1888, two months before Thérèse entered.
