MARTIN Thérèse, Sister Thérèse of the Child Jesus
GUERIN Marie, Sister Marie of the Eucharist

13th May 1888
                                Sunday May 88.
My darling little sister,

If you have Pott on the tip of your tongue, you certainly don't have it in your mind or at your fingertips. What a charming letter!...
If you wanted to make me laugh, you didn't waste your time, little elf. Little naughty girl, your foot hurts, it's very extraordinary because your feet are so small that there really isn't enough room.
Fortunately it's Pentecost soon, the Holy Spirit will certainly repair a serious oversight he made on the day of your Confirmation. He gave you all his gifts but, unfortunately, he forgot one that would be very useful to you. Guess which one?...
I will pray so much during my retreat that on the day of Pentecost you will be strong like a little Samson. If your foot still hurts, take care of your Loulou.
Last night I dreamed a lot IN Jeanne; since I've been in Carmel it's amazing how often I dream about it. Kiss her very much for her little Thérèse.
What nice weather ! the sun is radiant, it is really more brilliant than that which was on your letter because it hardly lit the ground, and if it were the same today I would be forced to use your lamp.
I am very happy to have had the word lamp to put on this page; otherwise I would have been obliged to do you an impoliteness by turning to say goodbye to you.
See you soon, I hope, my dear Sister, kiss my good Uncle for me, tell him that we will not forget his recommendation. A thousand kisses to my darling aunt.
(Your strength must not be in your hair but in your foot).
Little darling Pixie, I kiss you with all my heart.

Your little Sister, Thérèse of the Child Jesus pcin.
