            My Reverend Father,

I thought, since you were taking care of my sisters, that you would like to take the last one as well. I would like to be able to introduce myself to you, but I'm not like my sisters, I don't know how to say everything I feel in a letter. I believe, Father, that despite everything you will guess me. When you come to Lisieux I hope I can see you at Carmel to open my heart to you.
My Father, the Good Lord has just granted me a great grace; I have wanted to enter Carmel for a long time, I believe the time has come, Papa wants me to enter at Christmas.
Oh ! Father, how good Jesus is to take me so young! I don't know how to thank him.
My uncle thought I was very young, but yesterday he told me he wanted to do God's will. My Father, I come to ask you to please pray for your last child. I have just returned from Carmel, my sisters told me that I could write to you simply to tell you what was going on in my heart. You see, Father, I did it hoping you wouldn't refuse to take me for your little girl.
            Bless your second little Lamb

Thérèse
