I put my 1st little note in the hand of Sr Geneviève as she gave me yours, gay greave now to have put my missive in the post, but I will pay double postage to tell you that I understand your grief . I wanted more than you perhaps to hide nothing from you, but it seemed to me that I had to wait, if I have done wrong forgive me and believe that I have never lacked confidence in you!... Ah ! I love you too much for that!... I am very happy that you guessed with me - I do not remember having hidden anything else from the envelope to my little Mother and I beg her after my death not to believe this what we can tell him. Oh ! my little Mother, the letter is yours, please continue to write it until the day when Jesus will completely tear up the little envelope which has caused you so much grief since it was made!...
