Jesus

August 20, 1894

                My dear little sister,

I would like to write you a long letter but I only have a few minutes to spare, they are waiting for my little note to take it to the post office.
I think more than ever of you since our dear Father ascended to Heaven, I believe that you feel the same impressions as we do. Papa's death does not strike me as a death but as a real life. I find him after 6 years of absence, I feel him around me looking at me and protecting me...
Dear little Sister, are we not even more united now that we look to the Heavens to discover there a Father and a Mother who have offered us to Jesus?... Soon their desires will be fulfilled and all the children whom the Good Lord gave will be united to Him forever...
I understand the void that Céline's departure will cause you, but I know how generous you are for Our Lord, and then life will pass so quickly... after that we will be reunited so as not to be separated and we will be happy to have suffered for Jesus...
Dear little Sister, forgive me for this ugly letter, look only at the heart of your Thérèse who would like to tell you so many things that she cannot translate...
Present, I beg you, my respect to Madam Superior and to your dear Mistress.
I would like you to give the letter to Celine when she comes to see you as soon as possible.
Farewell my dear little Sister, don't forget to pray for the smallest and most unworthy of your sisters,

Thérèse of the Child Jesus of the Holy Face rel.carm.ind.
