My dear Celine,
Your letter is lovely, it made us shed very sweet tears!...
Do not be afraid, Jesus will not deceive you, if you only knew how your docility, your childlike candor delights him!... I have my heart torn... I have suffered so much for you that I hope not be an obstacle to your vocation; hasn't our affection been purified like gold in the crucible?... We have shed seeds crying and now we will soon return together carrying sheaves in our hands. I'm not going to write to the Father today, I think it's better to wait for his letter to see what he will say?... If you prefer that I write to justify you, tell me when you come and I won't be embarrassed!... I have a lot on my heart!!!...
But I thank God for this trial that He Himself wanted, I'm sure of it, because it's impossible for Jesus to deceive a little child like you.
All three of us love you even better than before if possible, your look told us so much. If you heard Sr. Marie of the SC I assure you that she would astonish you!... She does not hesitate to say that her beloved Father was mistaken... but he was only the instrument docile of Jesus, so little Thérèse does not hold it against him!...
Thank my aunt for her letter if she knows that I wrote to you, tell her that we are deeply touched.
