Sunday May 20, 1894

                Dear little Sister Thérèse,

What joy your letter has given me!... I cannot thank God enough for all the graces He showers on you.
Céline instructed us in the smallest details of the beautiful celebration of April 6th. How our little Heavenly Mother must have rejoiced that day!... And my Aunt from Le Mans, how her gaze was fixed on you with love!
I am very happy that my Holy Mother Thérèse has become yours, it seems to me that it is a bond that unites us together even more closely.
I cannot, dear little Sister, tell you all I would like, my heart cannot translate its intimate feelings with the cold language of the earth... But one day in Heaven, in our beautiful Homeland, I will look at you, and in my look you will see all that I would like to tell you, because silence is the language of the happy inhabitants of Heaven!...
In the meantime, we must win the Fatherland of Heaven... We must suffer, we must fight... Oh! I beg you, pray for your little Thérèse so that she benefits from exile from the earth and the abundant means she has to deserve Heaven.
Céline told us about the results of your elections, I suffered seeing you leave a Mother whom you loved, but I consoled myself by thinking that the one who replaces her is truly worthy of her Holy Predecessor and I am quite sure that you you now have to guide you towards Jesus two Mothers who deserve this sweet name.
I leave you, dear little Sister, without ever moving away from you in heart, and I beg you to offer my respectful remembrance to your good Mothers.

Sr Thérèse of the Child Jesus, of the Holy Face rel.carm.ind.
