                My dear little Celine,

We saw Marguerite M. this afternoon. I don't have time to talk to you about this visit in detail, but I can't tell you how much good she did to my soul. Ah! Céline, how happy we are to have been chosen by the husband of virgins!... Marg. confided in us intimate secrets that she does not tell anyone. We must pray for her because she is well exposed... She says that no book does her good, I thought that the mysteries of the future life would do her good and strengthen her faith which, alas, is very much in danger!... She told us that she could read books without her husband knowing about it.
You should give her this book and tell her that we thought she would be interested in it, but to start it only at the 3rd chapter where there is a small image, because for the first three they would be of no interest to her, I think it would be better for you to seem like you don't know this book and just run the errand because she'd be embarrassed if she knew we'd said a single word of her confidence. We'd rather Madame Maudelonde and my aunt not know that we were lending this book to Marg. Anyway, do the best you can and tell her to keep it as long as she wants... If you can't give it to her without being seen, maybe you should keep quiet, at least try to talk to her about it. For me, I have the greatest desire that she read a book in which she will certainly find the answer to many doubts!... I believe that it will be a work pleasing to God; he gave this idea to me, but you know that Th. can't do anything without Céline, it takes both to do a complete work, so it's up to Céline to finish what Th. started! ... Céline... if you only knew how much I love you, and how pure my love for you is!...
Céline darling, your little Th. always stays with you since you are in her heart and half of her heart...
