I am giving you the letter from Rome so that you can give it to Céline if you want. Maybe Papa won't understand, but it's not hard to take away and if he did understand sometimes he would be so happy. Should I also send him my wishes so that he may bless them? If you think so, would you mind telling me tomorrow morning so that I can write them quickly. We would put them in the middle of the crown, but it is perhaps better to do nothing?...
Thank you for your little letter, if you only knew how happy it made me!... My soul is still in the underground but it is very happy there, yes happy to have no consolation because I find that then its love is not like the love of the fiancées of the earth who always look at the hands of their Fiancé to see if he does not bring them a few presents, or else at their face to surprise there a smile of love which delights them. ..
But the poor little fiancée of Jesus feels that she loves Jesus for Him alone, and she only wants to look at the face of her beloved to catch the tears flowing from the eyes which have delighted her with their hidden charms! .. She wants to wipe them away, these tears, to make them her adornment on her wedding day, an adornment that will also be hidden but will be understood by the Beloved.
