Antechamber of Thérèse's cell

Antechamber of her last cell where Thérèse received her novices. She installed the statue of the Virgin of the Smile there when she arrived from Les Buissonnets. It was in front of her that she made the act of offering with Céline on June 11, 1895. It was also there that she knelt down before starting to write Manuscript A, as she tells beginning of his text.

In this photo after Thérèse's death, the statue is decorated as if for a feast day. It was there that little Thérèse had placed it. In this small antechamber of her cell (we see the latter through the half-open door), Thérèse received the novices to listen to them and advise them.
